Jane Karas, 91 years young passed peacefully into eternal life Oct 15, 2024 in hospice care at Ecumen Senior Living in North Branch, MN. We want to thank the whole staff for your love and support in her short time being there. She loved all of you and enjoyed all the residents.
Jane was born Jan. 8, 1933 and raised in Princeton, MN. She was so little she could fit inside a shoe box. She was baptized and raised strict Baptist, but later in life was baptized as Lutheran. Raised in the country with her two sisters, they had little or nothing to their names. They learned how to live simply, love deeply, work hard, and learn important values of life. Jane married Duane Kuether in 1950 and became a mother in 1956. They had three children; Joni, Gary and Brenda from 1956-1965 until the marriage ended.
Jane met and married George Karas later in life and they had a son, David.
The lady was such a dedicated and loyal wife, and mother to her family, as well as her friends. She worked hard all her life! Starting out as a nanny for a family with two children doing laundry, ironing and cooking for $5 a WEEK! Then she waitressed for area restaurants, factory work at Twin City Arsenal, and other factory positions, and ended as a cashier in her home town.
Jane was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church for several years in Princeton, MN, and always took time to read the bible faithfully. The lady was full blooded German! A spice of life, and sometimes a stick of DYNAMITE! lol Hence the nickname, "SPARKETTE". Jane always stayed active with her hobbies and crafts. She loved sewing, and sewed most of her first child's clothes. She loved crocheting, embroidering, ceramics, putting puzzles together, word search books, diamond painting, and gardening. We must not forget all the canning she did over the years, and what a WONDERFUL cook she was, and LOVED to eat, as well as, "Shopped till she dropped!" Jane loved traveling all over on weekends with her beloved best friend, Kay Kulhmen of 43 yrs., a friendship to help her with crafts shows. They enjoyed so much love and laughter, and always made time for having a few bloody Marys, and sometimes, a few TOO MANY! lol
Jane was an AMAZING daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grand mother, and if you ever met her, she was your true friend for life! She was such a fun-loving, kind, generous, honest, trusting, faithful genuine lady. She loved her family and friends very deeply, and many loved and enjoyed her, as well.
We'll love and miss her forever! Jane had a fun-filled journey!
Jane is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kuether of North Branch, MN; her son, Gary Kuether (wife Krenda) of Uniontown, OH; her sister Patricia Reiman (husband Clarence) of Princeton,MN; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two step sons, several nephews, nieces and cousins; her two furry doggies, Baxter,Bear, and many dear friends.
