SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE No. 2024-10-00, AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 360 SHORT-TERM RENTAL LICENSE ORDINANCE TO THE CITY OF TAYLORS FALLS CITY CODE IN THE CITY OF TAYLORS FALLS, CHISAGO COUNTY, MINNESOTA
On November 12, 2024, at a Meeting of the Taylors Falls City Council, by majority vote, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2024-10-00 which amends the City Code by adding Section 360 SHORT TERM RENTALS.
Ordinance #2024-10-00 ensures compliance with state preemption and mitigates the impacts upon surrounding properties by implementing balanced regulations to protect the integrity of the community as well as protecting the public health, safety, and general welfare of the long-term residents.
In summary the Short-Term Rental License Ordinance regulates the location, density, quantity, and manner which short-term rentals are allowed to operate. The ordinance requires an annual license to operate a short-term rental, in addition to the existing requirement of a conditional use permit. The ordinance includes general performance standards including, but not limited to, use regulation, capacity, prohibited structures and vehicles, parking regulations, location, allowances, considerations, emergency contacts, response time, taxes, complaints, records, noise, property lines, septic system and water requirements, and enforcement procedures.
