November 12 one call about 7 a.m. was made to the Chisago County government center office of election officials. The call threatened the presence of a bomb (multiple counties in Minnesota also received these calls.) St. Paul Bomb Squad cleared the building with deputies assisting and the incident was wrapped up in about two hours.
November 14 the SWAT unit was sent to help detain a felony warrant suspect who reportedly was illegally possessing a weapon. The address where the subject was believed to be was on Gunflint Way in rural Shafer. He was taken into custody without any injury. Incident developed about 9:40 a.m.
November 15 A 55 year old female was cited in relation to a crash at East Viking Boulevard and Highway 8, about 2:36 p.m. One car rear ended a second car slowing to stop at the intersection.
Crash reported at Green Lake Trail and Highway 8 about 2:20 p.m. Three vehicles involved. State Patrol will be writing. Another crash at Broadway St. and 299 in Lindstrom, about 1:43 p.m. State also is writing.
A truck parked on Glader Blvd. was hit by a passenger vehicle and the driver sustained a head cut when the airbag deployed. This was reported about 8 p.m.
November 16 A possible swindle reported at Lindstrom business. Money taken and used to purchase Holiday and Kwik Trip money cards. Under investigation.
November 17 A false fire alarm triggered at the Wildcat Fitness Community Center about 3:45 p.m. It is linked to an earlier incident when a sprinkler head was knocked off its attachment and water was striking the center gym floor, about 1:50 p.m. When repair people came to fix it, it triggered the false alarm. Juvenile suspects are being interviewed for possible involvement.
Leaf burning at an address on Old Towne Road, Chisago City, called in. Officer reminded the subject no leaf burning is allowed in the Lakes Area Police service territory.
There were dozens of warnings written for overnight parking violations in the Chisago Lakes Area. No overnight street parking is in effect until spring. This is true in North Branch as well. Streets need to be kept open for plows.
