AREA SOCCER ROUND UP
North Branch Girls
The Viking girls’ soccer team improved their record to 2-3-3 on the season with a win and a tie over the last week. On Saturday, September 14 they shut out the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm 3-0 at home. And on Monday, September 16, they tied the Becker Bulldogs 2-2.
North Branch Boys
The Viking boys dropped to 0-7-1 on the season with two more close losses. They fell to the Mesabi East Area Giants at home on Thursday, September 12. And on Monday, September 16, they lost 3-1 to the Becker Bulldogs at North Branch High School.
Chisago Lakes Boys
The Wildcat boys lost 2-1 to the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets at Cambridge on Thursday, September 12 to extend their losing streak to eight games. But they beat the St. Francis Fighting Saints 3-1 at St. Francis on Monday, September 16 for their first win of the season.
Soccer Stuff
The soccer season seems like it just got started, but it is nearly two-thirds complete.
The Wildcats and Vikings will square off at Chisago Lakes High School Monday, September 23 in their annual rivalry matches.
The girls will play at 5 p.m., and the boys will tussle at 7 p.m.
The Wildcats boys will host the Monticello Magic tonight at 7 p.m. at Chisago Lakes High School. The Viking boys will head to Cambridge-Isanti High School to take on the Bluejackets tonight at 7 p.m. And, Saturday, the Vikings boys will welcome the Forest Lake Rangers to North Branch for a 1 p.m. game.
The Viking girls will play the Bluejackets at Cambridge-Isanti this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. And on Saturday, they will take the coffee express up to Members Cooperative Credit Union Stadium in Cloquet for an 11 a.m. matchup with the Cloquet/Carlton Lumberjacks.
