Lowell Martin Peterson of Chisago City, MN passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at Parmly on the Lake.  He was born to parents Martin and Magnhild Peterson on September 13, 1934.  

Lowell attended Chisago City High School.  He played football, basketball, baseball and ran track.  On January 4, 1957, Lowell married the love of his life, Joyce Nelson, they were married for 67 years. Lowell was then drafted into the United States Army where he served two years.

Lowell worked at 3M Company (for the Security Department), he retired in 1995, after 30 years.  He was also a member of the Chisago City Fire Department, member of the Jaycees and he enjoyed being a part of the chain gang for the Chisago Wildcats for 40 years. Lowell was also an active member at Zion Lutheran Church where he served on the hospitality committee, the Church council numerous times and proudly sang in the choir!

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Magnhild; sisters, Rose Marie and Mary Lou; brothers John and Jim.

Lowell thoroughly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at all their sporting events.  If one of the grandkids were playing at a sporting event Lowell and Joyce would be there with bells on!

Lowell is survived by his wife Joyce Marie and their four children: Jodi (Kevin) Rivard, Steve (Sandy) Peterson, Brian (Julie) Peterson, and Jennifer (Jeff) Rehder; his brother Steve (Patti) Peterson and sister, Beverly Peterson; grandchildren: Nic (Andrea) Schmidt, Mitchel (Brianna) Peterson, Corbin (Lindsay) Peterson, Tanner Rivard, Emily, Eric and Charlie Peterson and Torrie Rehder; great grandchildren Addie, Marvin, Rylie, Colton, Mackenzie and Regan.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City, MN.  Visitation one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment at Chisago Memorial Park in Chisago City, MN.  Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN  Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com.  Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Chisago City, MN
