Chisago Lakes 3, Mahtomedi 2

Jacob Kletti scored two power play goals in the third period to give the Wildcats a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Mahtomedi Zephyrs at the St. Croix Rec Center in Mahtomedi Tuesday, January 28.  Wildcat special teams were key to this win, as the Wildcats killed off all four penalties they incurred while scoring on three of their six power play opportunities.

With the Wildcats trailing 1-0 late in the first period, Max Bobrowski scored on a power play at 12:28, assisted by Ben Kerkow and Kletti to tie the game at 1-1.  Neither team scored in the second period.  The Zephyrs scored at 5:42 of the third period to take a 2-1 lead.  Kletti scored on a power play at 9:44 to tie the game 2-2, with the assists going to Ben Kerkow and Bobrowski.  And at 15:27, Kletti put one in the back of the net, with help from Max Koch and Alex Bever, to give the Wildcats the win.  Shots were nearly even for the game, with the Zephyrs holding a 29-28 edge.  Wildcat goalie Corbin Shandley stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced to earn the win.

Chisago Lakes 6, Simley 4

Trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Wildcats scored three times each in the second and third periods and beat the Simley Spartans 6-4 Wednesday, January 29 at Veteran’s Arena in Inver Grove Heights.

The Wildcats outshot the Spartans 21-6 in the first period but couldn’t get one past Simley goalie Everett Hay.  But the Wildcats’ relentless pressure eventually caused the walls to cave in.  In the second period, Jacob Kletti scored a power play goal and Max Bobrowski and Ashton Warnke had even strength goals, giving the Wildcats a 3-2 lead after two.  In the third period, Colton Whiterabbit and Alex Bever notched even strength goals, while Bobrowski added another power play goal.  The Wildcats were just too much for the overmatched Spartans, out shooting them 55-24 for the game.

Playmaker Max Koch led the Wildcats with three assists, and Ben Kerkow had two assists.  Seven players had one helper apiece:  Whiterabbit, Lucas Ide, Ashton Warnke, Austin Slettom, Kletti, Quin Ryan and Bobrowski.

Chisago Lakes 6, Sauk Rapids-Rice 4

Jacob Kletti scored his first career hat trick to lead the Wildcats to a 6-4 win over the Sauk-Rapids-Rice Storm Friday, January 31 at Chisago Lakes High School.  Shots were nearly even for the game, with the Wildcats outshooting the Storm 39-35.

Ben Kerkow scored at 4:23 of the first period to give the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead, assisted by Austin Slettom and Landon Kerkow.  Midway through the period, Bryden Prelvitz scored a shorthanded goal and a power play goal to give the Storm a 2-1 lead.  But Jacob Kletti scored with just over a minute remaining in the first period to tie the game at 2-2.  Max Bobrowski and Max Koch picked up the assists.

The Storm scored twice midway through the second period to go up 4-2.  Quin Ryan scored for the Wildcats at 13:33 to cut the Sauk Rapids lead to 4-3, with Kletti and Austin Slettom getting the assists.  And Kletti again scored with a little over a minute remaining in the period.  His power play goal, assisted by Koch, tied the game at 4-4.  Bobrowski notched the game-winner at 7.26 of the third period, assisted by Kletti and Bever.  Kletti completed his hat trick with a power play goal at 9:41 to give the Wildcats some insurance as they went on to calm the Storm 6-4.  Two familiar names, Koch and Bobrowski, assisted on Kletti’s hat trick goal.

Chisago Lakes 6, South St. Paul 0

Junior Jacob Kletti had a goal and three assists to lead the Wildcats to a 6-0 shutout over the South St. Paul Packers Monday, February 3 at Doug Woog Arena in South St. Paul.  The Wildcats outshot the Packers 40-28 for the game.  Junior goalie Corbin Shandley stopped all 28 shots he faced to record his second shutout of the season.  The Wildcats put the game away with a four-goal outburst in the second period.

Max Bobrowski scored two goals for the Wildcats. Notching one goal each were Landon Kerkow, Ben Kerkow, and Austin Slettom.  And six players had a single assist each:  Colton Whiterabbit, Lucas Ide, Max Koch, Max Bever, Nolan LaVasseur, and Bobrowski.
