Township filings close; incumbents in all but one race

Reports on those who are seeking to be on the townships’ ballots March 11, point to it being a quiet year.  Township elections, with the exception of Nessel, are held in March,  along with the annual meetings that also take place for purposes of discussing the next year’s budget.

For those voting in Amador Township the next supervisor to fill the expiring seat of Pete Johnson will be a write-in.  Nobody filed papers by the deadline in mid-January.

In Chisago Lake Township incumbents Wayne Houle and Judy Straub (treasurer) have filed. There are no challengers.

In Fish Lake Township the incumbent, Bruce Fitzwater,  whose supervisor term is expiring,  filed for re-election and is not being challenged.

Sunrise Township longtime supervisor Jeske Noordergraaf did not file for re-election. Her three year seat is being sought by Phillip Meers.

Franconia Township had one file, incumbent Doug Wallis.

We did not get a response for Shafer Township candidate filings.
