A downtown Taylors Falls landmark, the Springs Inn caught fire early Friday, Feb 7 sometime around 6 a.m.  The damages are most severe to the top floor, where the roof was consumed by fire. The owner of the property told the Press he had been contacted Friday by the state fire marshal and was expecting to meet on the site as soon as possible.  The cause at this time is undetermined.  Whether the Springs Inn structure can be rebuilt is unknown.

According to the owner, people who were residing on site were able to exit the building and there were no injuries.
