Chisago Lakes’ two representatives at the state alpine ski meet both performed well on Tuesday, February 11 at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
Anna Dahl, the lone rep for the girls’ team, had a consistent day, finishing the red course in 40.04 seconds and the blue course in 40.70 seconds. Her red course finish was good for 23rd, and her blue course finish, which was the tougher of the two, put her in 15th place on that course.
Her combined time of 1:20.74 put her right in the thick of talented racers from fifth place down to 30th place.
She was only two seconds from a top seven finish and less than a second from a top 10 finish.
Taylor Voigt of Hill-Murray won the state championship with a time of 1:15.09.
Orval Cyr was the lone skier from the CL boys team, and he finished in 38th place on the tough courses. He finished the red course in 39.33 seconds and the blue course in 41.61 seconds. Despite being faster on the red, he was 51st on that run since that was the better conditions of the two. Cyr’s time on the blue course was good enough for 33rd place on blue. His combined time of 1:20.94 was good enough for 38th.
