Representatives of the North Branch Area Education Foundation (NBAEF) visited North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS), to announce 2025 grant recipients. In all, there were 15 grants awarded; roughly $29,000 in value. Board members in attendance included Kim Theis, Matt Lattimore, Terry Nelson, Kris Fairbanks, Jessica Young, Sean Murphy, Tammy Hovland, and Erica Bjerketvedt, were on hand to present the funds.
This year's donations were augmented with a generous donation of $10,000 from ECMC Foundation (Educational Credit Management Corporation), and a $5,000 private donation. At its Perfect 10 event last October, the foundation also provided a new baby grand piano for the high school as part of its "Fund a Dream" fundraiser.
Grants make possible: a trip to the Ordway, an author visit, student team building, a Gaga ball pit at the NBAEC, an Intro to Foods class, Letters for Littles, science equipment improvement, engagement for striving readers, a playground communication board, student banners on Grand Ave., sensory activities, Outdoor Adventures field trip, safety updates, flexible seating, and a portable sound system.
Since 2010, the NBAEF has raised over $590,500 and awarded grants over $260,401.
"The continued generosity of the North Branch Area Education Foundation speaks volumes about the incredible support for education in our community," said Superintendent Sara Paul. "NBAEF grants directly impact our students and staff, providing enriching experiences that foster innovation and creativity. We are incredibly grateful to the NBAEF for their unwavering commitment to our students' success."
