Eugene H. “Gene” Nissen, age 91, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Shafer, Minnesota, passed away on December 31, 2024. Gene was born on October 14, 1933, in North St. Paul, Minnesota, to Victor and Alice Nissen. He graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1951.

Gene married Patricia Fleming on February 12, 1955, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They shared 49 years together until her passing on June 16, 2004. He later married Beverly (Molly) Faffler on January 8, 2005, in Marine on St. Croix.

A lifelong farmer, Gene had a passion for Case tractors, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. He was actively involved in organizations such as Trojan Seed Corn, the Farm Bureau, McNess, and Land O'Lakes.

Gene was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia, and five siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Molly) Faffler; daughters Connie (Bob) Linder, Cindy (Fred Pfannes) Anderson, and Ruth (Ken) Larson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; stepchildren Steve (Jenny) Faffler, Ken (Tammy) Faffler, Nancy (Brian) Beich, and Doug Faffler; nine step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and his close farming friend, Casey McCormick.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 2–5 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Minnesota. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City, Minnesota, will be held at a later date.
