Chisago Lakes 2, Pine City 1
Goalie Brett Hanson allowed just one goal on 27 shots and Max Bobrowski and Jacob Kletti gave the Wildcat boys’ hockey team just enough offense to beat the Pine City Dragons 2-1 last Thursday, January 23 at Pine City High School.
The game was scoreless until Bobrowski scored a power play goal at 8:50 of the second period, assisted by Nick Hansen and Alex Bever, to put the Wildcats up 1-0. Kletti gave the Wildcats some insurance at 3:12 of the third period, scoring to double the Wildcats’ lead to 2-0. Bever and Max Koch assisted on Kletti’s goal. Kletti’s goal proved crucial when Mylo Rydberg scored for the Dragons with just under three minutes to go in the game to cut the Wildcats’ lead to 2-1. The Wildcats hung on for the last few minutes to come away with their ninth win of the season. The Wildcats outshot Pine City 37-27 for the game.
