Jennifer Lynn Zerwas, 52, of Wyoming, Minnesota, passed away in July 2025 after a long struggle with PTSD and mental health challenges.
Jennifer served six years in the United States Air Force and later as a Lakes Area Police Officer for 13 years. She was proud to work in both the military and law enforcement, and she cared deeply about the community she served. She spent many years building relationships with those around her and lived a life of service.
She is survived by her three children—Michaela, Kaitlin, and Lucas—who meant everything to her, as well as her beloved granddaughter, Evelyn.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Zerwas Sr.; her sister-in-law, Cheryl Zerwas; and her sister, Debbie Zerwas.
Though the last several years of her life were difficult, they do not erase the time she spent in service to others or the role she played in her community and family. Her story is a reminder of the importance of mental health support, especially for those in high-stress professions.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26, from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Forest Lake VFW. Friends, family, and community members are invited to gather, remember, and honor Jennifer’s life.
