Jerome Krawczewski

Jerome T. Krawczewski, age 38 of Almelund, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 10, 2025, at M Health Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis. Jerome was a multifaceted individual. He was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, mentor, engineer, advisor, and a farmer. Most of all he was a friend to   be   admired.   Born   on   October   24,   1986,   in   St.   Paul   to   parents,   Thomas   and   Barbara   (Hebl) Krawczewski,   Jerome studied   at   Parkview Elementary   School   in   Roseville,   MN,   before moving to Almelund with   his   parents.   He graduated   with   distinction   from   North Branch   High   School.

Jerome obtained   a   Bachelor   of   Science   degree in Agricultural   Engineering   Technology with   a   Minor   in Agricultural   Business   from   the   University   of   Wisconsin River   Falls (UWRF).     Jerome   was   a   self-advocate and advocate for others throughout his life. In these roles, he was honored by the MN Governor for his leadership and service to Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and youth. Jerome served on many organizations. Some of his favorites were 4H in high school where he was recognized for Outstanding Service and Leadership with the “extra mile award.” Later in college, he put his skills and determination  into   building   quarter   scale   tractors   in   the   UWRF   Quarter   Scale   Club   and   American   Society   of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), where they competed in developing pulling tractors to specifications. After graduation, Jerome began working for the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) as an associate examiner and quickly developed into a mentor for younger and newer hires. He continued to work up the ranks for the past 14 years, achieving the title of Institution Specialist.

Jerome believed in  education and strived to help those around him learn. He was proud of his successes. He attributed much  of his success to his faith and the support of his community- which included the parishes of St Odilia, St Rose of Lima, St Bridget of Sweden, along with friends and family in Roseville, St Paul, Almelund and  beyond as well as the medical community that helped celebrate his life as a miracle.  Jerome, even as a  6th grader in a suburban school, was working towards becoming a farmer in Almelund. A community which he flourished in. Jerome loved the farm and sharing his love of tractors and farm toys. He was an  exhibitor at the Almelund Threshing Bee. He also volunteered at the St Bridget’s Church Festival and  Apple Festival  of Almelund.    Jerome was  a strong  advocate, promoting  St Paul’s Children  Hospital through Hospital   Articles   and  Featured   Stories.   He worked   to   bring  awareness   of   the challenges of communication for people with hearing difficulties. He stood up against people’s biases and assumptions.  He challenged people stating, “I would like everyone to take the time to get to know people with different abilities   as   individuals,   and   focus   on   their   capabilities, knowledge,   and   abilities   first.   Don’t   make assumptions… Allow individuals with different abilities to tell you what they need. Simply have an open-minded conversation to learn about their goals in life and their skill sets.” To those with disabilities,  “Accept the challenge, even when all the odds seem to be against you- Be dedicated and work hard to  succeed… If someone isn’t listening to you, find someone who will.”

Jerome’s sense of humor was often evident in all aspects of life. Most recently, Jerome compiled a medical folder for consideration for a  transplant, the cover of which he sported baby yoda stating, “People should seriously stop expecting normal from me... We all know it’s never going happen.”

Jerome is survived by his parents, his two  sisters   Katie   (Shawn)   Everson   and   Kimberly   (Paul)   Carhuatanta,   niece   and   nephews   Braeden   and Charlotte   Everson   and   Oliver,   Sebastian,   and   Lorenzo   Carhuatanta;   as   well   as   uncles   Richard Krawczewski, aunts Pam (Rich) Meyer and Rachel Hebl and many cousins.  Mass of Christian Burial will be   held   at   11   a.m.   on   Saturday,   March  15,   2025   at   St.   Bridget   of   Sweden   Catholic   Church   in Lindstrom. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Grandstrand Funeral  Home in Lindstrom and also one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.    In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to: Almelund Fire and Rescue, St Bridget of Sweden- Lindstrom, or The Baby Blanket (A ministry of St Bridget), Children’s Minnesota Foundation- Cardiovascular Program (CBC-3-Foun) give.childrensmn.org  (designate  Cardiovascular  Care), and Adult Congenital Heart Association achaheart.org.   Arrangements are by Grandstrand Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Lindstrom.
