LaVern Earl Tverberg, age 86, of Stacy, passed away on February 7, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. Vern was born in Corning, Minnesota on March 30, 1938 to Carl and Mabel Tverberg. He grew up in Royalton, where some knew him as "Tweety". Vern graduated high school in 1956, lettering in football. He then served in the US Navy, where he was stationed in the Mediterranean region. 

He met Cornelia Burdick in 1964, and they married on February 27, 1965 at St. Patrick's Church in Saint Paul. They were together for 60 years and had three children - Vernon, Maria, and Vance. The family settled in Stacy, in a house built by Vern and his sons. He lived there for 45 years until his death. 

Vern worked in a few different fields, and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2004. Vern enjoyed the outdoors, traveling with his wife, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a kind gentleman with a calming demeanor who was always there to support his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who were fortunate to know him. 

He was preceded in death by parents Carl and Mabel Tverberg (DeVriendt), stepfather Ed DeVriendt, and siblings Glenn Tverberg, Wayne DeVriendt, and Diane DeVriendt (Sufka). 

He is survived by his loving wife Cornelia; brother Larry DeVriendt; children Vernon (Michelle), Maria (Bryan), and Vance (Michelle); grandchildren Lucas, Anna (Cory), Jacob (Isabelle), Rebecca, Joshua (Sierra), Joseph (Alexandra), Baby Michael, Faith, Grace, Isaac and Daniel; and great grandchildren Olivia, Logan, Avery, Jack, Levi, David, Henry, Evangeline, and Josiah. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Access Church in North Branch, MN (4359 392nd Street)  Memorial Service at 2 p.m.
