Clark Allen Malcomson age 95 of Lake City, MN formerly of Lindstrom, MN passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the Valentines High Street House in Lake City, MN.
Clark was born on January 28, 1930 to Ernie and Martha (Timmerman) Malcomson in LeRoy, MN. He attended LeRoy High School and graduated class of 1948. After high school Clark and his brother Dale enlisted in the United States Air Force on the same day and served proudly for four years, being honorably discharged in 1952.
While in the Air Force he met Margueritte Bany through a mutual friend on December 22, 1951 and three weeks later on January 11, 1952 were married. They remained married for 73 happy years until his death.
After returning from the service Clark enrolled in Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA where he received his teaching certificate. His first teaching job was in Mabel, MN and after one year he transferred to Lindstrom, MN, where he taught for 38 years. He taught Industrial Arts, and seventh grade math. Later he started the Community Education Program and taught Drivers’ Education.
Clark lived a life marked by faith, love and service. He was very active in Trinity Lutheran’s church community. He most recently participated in the Spit and Shine and 500 groups during his retirement. He was a church leader involved in many board positions over the years.
Clark enjoyed his family most of all. He spent time deer hunting, elk hunting and fishing with his son Russ and grandsons and shared many camping, travel and outdoor adventures with his daughter Karen and Margueritte. He and Margueritte enjoyed many trips state side and abroad and wintered in Texas, Alabama and Utah. He was always ready for a new adventure.
Clark was a long-time member of the Lions Club, serving for over 61 years. He was also a member of the American Legion. He started the Meals on Wheels program and was dedicated, with Margueritte, to delivering these meals for many years. He was Conservationist of the Year in Chisago County. He was a competitive bridge and 500 card player. Clark was an avid birder and a National Audubon Society member. He made several loon and bird counting trips with Margueritte and his grandsons. Clark was bigger than life and could light up a room with his kind heart, jokes and smiles.
Clark is survived by his beloved wife Margueritte, his son Russell (Nancy) and daughter Karen (Craig), granddaughters Holly Okland (Jeff) and Crystal Boe (Russell) and grandsons Sterling (Carmen) Malcomson, Ryan Malcomson (Camee) and Riley Broussard. He has six great-grandchildren Eden, Henry, Charles, Jack, Lyla and Neala. He was adored by his entire family and had too many friends to count. He will be dearly missed.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Martha, brother Dale and sisters Marge, Joyce, Darlene and Bonnie. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in Clark’s name.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom, MN, with a visitation 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. A luncheon is to follow.
