May 4 

A call came in of an unresponsive female at Dennis Frandsen County Park on Rush Lake, about 7:38 p.m.  The preliminary information given to the sheriff patrol by someone on the scene is that she had been partying on the opposite shore and said she wanted to swim across the lake.  North Branch Police and county sheriff personnel and EMS authorities responded, and she was administered Narcan.  The subject is unidentified. According to a sheriff spokesperson an investigation is ongoing and authorities are aware she was transported to the hospital in Wyoming by ambulance and has been transferred since,  but any condition update is unavailable.

May 3 

A fireworks display that was permitted is suspected of having caught a nearby field on fire close to A1 Tire, at Athens Trail in Stacy.  Stacy-Lent firefighters and North Branch were dispatched about 9:15 p.m.

Lakes Area Police got a report of a purse theft from a vehicle at Water Tower Park in Chisago City. 

May 2

Alarms were setoff by a Chisago Lakes Middle School student who was detained and parents took the youth away from school.

An assault reported underway outside of Lindstrom Bakery and officers responded. Nobody injured. Incident is thought to be related to “road rage” and was reported about 10 a.m. 

A house fire was reported on Bench Street in Taylors Falls about 1:40 a.m.  Occupants and a pet had left the house when responders arrived, no injuries reported. The cause may have been an electric smoker set up near the home, but the cause is not announced.

May 1

An allegedly suicidal woman drove her vehicle into Wallmark lakeshore behind the motel on the frontage road,  in Chisago City. The incident was called in about 7:38 p.m. Police dealt with the distraught suspect.

April 30

With spring yard cleanup many fire complaints are arriving for authorities to handle. The fire in Lindstrom on Bronson Avenue about 9:30 p.m. was ordered to be extinguished because it was closer than 25 feet to a structure and prohibited materials were in the fire.

April 28

A man in a leprechaun costume encountered police twice in one day...once in Chisago City where he was the subject of complaints about harassing people as he drove past in a Ridgeline pickup mid-day around 302nd Street —and again in Lindstrom where his behavior in a private yard was described as making people “uncomfortable” and he moved along without incident, when Lakes Area Police made contact.
