Four burning complaints were responded to by local firefighters and authorities last week. A grass fire that erupted on the east edge of I-35 May 8 about 9:45 a.m. was caused when heated tires came off a trailer carrying a skid steer and started vegetation on-fire.  Stacy-Lent firefighters responded.

May 6 a grassfire was reported in Rushseba at Government Road and 517th about 3:10 p.m. Cause is not determined.

Also May 6 a homeowner was cited for letting a burn pile catch grass and woods on fire (due to not monitoring) and burning prohibited materials.  A burn pile on St Croix Trail was cited about 11 a.m. May 5.  Adult was burning construction materials and other non-allowed products.

May 8 A sheriff patrol was sent to investigate a car off the roadway from Park Trail, near Highway 95, north of Center City about 6:45 a.m.  Upon checking the vehicle was found to be reported stolen from near Princeton,  and law enforcement found a suspect later alongside the road and arrested him.

Code violations were documented at a residence and Lakes Area Police will be following up with Lindstrom building officials. Two vape citations were issued to middle school students and two were issued at the high school.
