Monticello has been a thorn in Chisago Lakes’ side for the last years. Even though the ‘Cats have traditionally beaten Monticello, they’ve always gave them a tough test and made them work to earn a conference title.

This year, however, they had no issues with the Magic whatsover, hammering them 18-3 and winning the Mississippi 8 Conference championship in the process. 

Camryn Hinsch and Naomi Eaton each had three goals, Lauren Schmidt had two goals and four assists and Olivia Rambosek, Raeann Goehring and Madelyn Barton each had a pair of goals as the ‘Cats route Monticello.

They were up 12-3 at the halftime break, and then outscored Monti 6-0 in the second half to run away with the game.

Laura Carlson only faced nine shots on the night, but made six saves.

Chisago Lakes 19, Anoka 5

The Wildcats closed out their home schedule with another blowout win, this time over Anoka, on Friday, May 9.

Camryn Hinsch had four goals and an assist, which allowed her to eclipse the 100 point mark in her career. Goehring had three goals and an assist, and Barten, Schmidt and Katelyn Anderson each had two goals for the ‘Cats as they hammered the Tornadoes. Eaton added one goal and three helpers.

Evi Reedy, Linnea Carlson, Rambosek, Hailey Sandberg and Zoey Nash each also had a goal.

Carlson picked up another win on the year, making six saves on 11 shots.

Chisago Lakes will end the season with four straight non-conference away games. They took on Mound Westonka earlier this week and travel to Hill-Murray on Thursday, May 15. They’ll finish the season up at Forest Lake on Tuesday, May 20 and at Breck on Wednesday, May 21.
