Fatal crash west of North Branch November 18

The authorities have not released names of persons involved in a semi truck-SUV crash on Highway 95, near the intersection with Hornsby Road Nov 18.  The early details are that a 2016 Jeep Patriot crossed the centerline while westbound on Highway 95 and hit a 2026 Mack truck nearly head on.

The truck was driven by a 53 year old male from Pine River, according to the state patrol.  The Jeep was driven by a female, but her age and address were also not released.

North Branch firefighters, North Branch police and Isanti County sheriff’s personnel responded.

Dozens of warning notices were distributed over the past week for vehicles parked in violation of city street overnight parking rules that are in effect over the winter. 

November 16

The county patrol was involved in a pursuit on southbound I-35  that was picked up and joined by Washington and Ramsey counties. The stop sticks were successfully deployed in Ramsey county and Chisago escorted the offending driver back to Center City to be held on charges of no plates, traffic violations, fleeing and outstanding warrants awaited the suspect driver.  The incident began in the north end of Chisago County about 7:40 p.m.

A vulnerable adult was reported missing about 11:30 a.m. in the Amador Township area and after a brief search was found near Almelund and returned to family with no injury.

November 14

Chisago City firefighters were sent to Latham Lane about 5:50 p.m.  Incident involved burnt food and no major damages resulted.

Lakes Area Police were called to look into a trailer theft but after investigating the loss it was determined the trailer was left at a deceased person’s home and when family cleaned possessions out and got things organized, the trailer was scrapped because its owner could not be determined.

November 13

A license plate reader roadside device reported a plate number involved in a hit and run crash in Rush City. This allowed authorities to find the vehicle involved in the incident at Kwik Trip .

A school bus stop arm violation was ticketed on Old Towne Road in Chisago City.

Two vaping devices were cited at Chisago Lakes High School over the week.
