North Branch Officer Adam Hanson and Firefighter Captain Bobby Morelli stood for a photo after accepting accolades from the North Branch City Council last week. Morelli was named the state Association of Fire Departments’ MSFDA Firefighter of the Year.  North Branch Fire Chief Pat Heinen commented Morelli has the most calls responded to and chalks up the most hours of any member.  He is the first to arrive and the last to clear a call and contributes “whatever” is necessary to make the call a success.  

Police Chief Dan Meyer explained Officer Hanson was receiving the Lifesaving Award based on his skills at an overdose incident August 30. Hanson immediately assessed the situation and administered Narcan and performed first aid procedures, until the subject regained alertness, the chief stated.
