Saturday October 25 at about 2 a.m. the Chisago County 9-1-1 communications center received a notification of a vehicular crash.  The cell phone alert was near Ivywood and Stacy Trail, on the north side of Chisago City.  

Lakes Area Police and sheriff patrol responded and learned two Toyota models were involved and a total of five persons were in the vehicles.  Authorities who assisted at the crash site included Chisago City and Stacy-Lent Fire/First Responders, Lakes Region Emergency Medical Services, M Health and the Midwest Medical Examiners Office.  Lakes Area is continuing its investigation, with reconstruction expertise from the state patrol. 

It is believed the vehicles crashed head on.  Further, authorities at the scene reported alcohol may have been a factor, as it was located on scene.  

The vehicle ownership is being sorted out,  and the parties’ activities prior to the crash are being looked into.

The 2014 Toyota Camry was driven by a 14-year-old male and carried two 15 year old male passengers. One of those passengers perished at the scene.  The driver and a second passenger in the Camry were transported to Regions, according to Lakes Area Police.

The 17 year old driver of a 2000 Toyota Four-runner died at the hospital,  police reported.  His passenger, 18, went to HCMC. His condition was not immediately available.
