Chisago Lakes Boys
The Wildcat boys’ soccer team has had a rough start to the 2025 season. They are 0-4 in their first four games. They have been shut out three times, and they have been outscored 27-2 so far this season. The Wildcats lost 10-2 to North St. Paul at home in the opener. Davis DePrez and Caleb Brink each scored a goal in the second half for the Wildcats. Hitting the road for the last three games, the Wildcats fell 6-0 to St. Anthony Village, 3-0 to Hibbing/Chisholm, and 8-0 to Columbia Heights.
North Branch Boys
In contrast, the Viking boys (3-1-1) are off to a great start this season. In Proctor for the season opener, Jacob Edmonds scored four goals to lead the Vikings to a 5-0 shutout victory. The game was scoreless at the half before the Vikings took over the game in the second half. Brady Barie scored the other goal for the Vikings. Stephen Gerten had two assists, and Jackson Puelston and Will Alvar had one assist each. Goalkeeper Puelston also made ten saves to record his first shutout of the season.
The scoring binge continued for Edmonds in the home opener against Hibbing/Chisholm. He again scored four times as the Vikings beat Hibbing 5-1. They scored three times in the first half and twice in the second half. Drew Peck scored his first goal of the season. Ryan Troxell notched two assists, and Brady Barie had one.
The Vikings suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Duluth Denfeld, losing 4-0 at home. They managed just five shots on net in the game. But they bounced back against Legacy Christian Academy as Ryan Neumann scored the game’s only goal I the second half to give the Vikings a 1-0 shutout win. Puelston made 16 saves to earn his second shutout of the season.
Chisago Lakes Girls
The Wildcat girls (1-1-2) have shown off their typical stellar defense in their first four games. They opened with a 1-0 loss to Coon Rapids at home. At St. Anthony, Autumn Lukkason scored in the second half, assisted by Alexandra Bartz, as the Wildcats tied St. Anthony 1-1. The Wildcats scored three times in the second half to shut out DeLa Salle 3-0 at De La Salle for their first win of the season. Hailey Abayare, Jayden Phlman, and Emma Knabe each scored their first goal of the season for the Wildcats. Pohlman and Alexandra Bartz each picked up an assist. Goalkeeper Ruby Anderson made five saves to get her first shutout of the season. Anderson earned here second shutout of the season with eight saves as the Wildcats and Totino Grace Eagles battled to a 0-0 tie.
North Branch Girls
The Viking girls (2-0-3) opened the season with three straight ties, are still undefeated to start the season, and have outscored their opponents 15-4. They led off at home with a 0-0 tie against the Hermantown Hawks. They tied Mankato West at Mankato 2-2. At Jordan, they settled for another 0-0 tie. At home against St. Agnes, they scored three times in the first half and twice in the sconed half for a convincing 5-0 win. At Zimmerman, they exploded for eight goals in an 8-2 win.
