Connie Anderson Chervenak , age 88, of Lindstrom, MN passed away peacefully at home, surrounded with love by her daughters on September 12, 2025. Connie was born on May 4, 1937, in Milltown, Wisconsin, to Howard and Roma Lindvig. In 1942, the family moved to Lindstrom, where Connie grew up and graduated from Lindstrom-Center City School (Chi-Hi).
In 1955, Connie married her high school sweetheart, Duane “Bucky” Anderson. Together they moved to Washington, D.C., while Duane served in the U.S. Navy and Connie worked for the Navy Department at the Pentagon. After his discharge, they returned to the Chisago Lakes area, where they raised their four daughters. Connie was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a member of Eastern Star, and a volunteer with the American Red Cross and many other organizations.
The family loved traveling, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, and spending time at their cabin in Birchwood, Wisconsin. Connie worked at Montgomery Ward in Lindstrom and later at Hazelden, where she was employed for 17 years. Duane passed away unexpectedly in 1990.
In 1992, Connie met Dr. Jim Chervenak, and they married in 1996. They lived in St. Michael, Minnesota, until Jim’s retirement, then returned to the Chisago Lakes area. Connie and Jim shared a full and joyful life together traveling the world, hunting grouse, fishing, enjoying their pontoon, and wintering in Florida. Jim passed away in 2014.
Connie had many loves—playing cards, rolling dice, and especially her Bridge clubs. But her greatest joy was family time. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities and was endlessly proud of her four daughters and their families. She welcomed Jim’s children and grandchildren as her own, cherishing them just as deeply.
We will miss her quick wit and beautiful smile!
