It was a very busy week for area authorities;  while working a Towards Zero Deaths enforcement saturation on area roadways, they had calls for numerous secondary offenses such as thefts from business and police were involved September 19 in a case out of Wisconsin relating to alleged firearm thefts from storage units.  Search warrants were used to enter addresses in Shafer and Wyoming.

A threat reported against Chisago Lakes schools was investigated by Lakes Area Police.  Nothing was located in a search of the school locker involved. The student reportedly made a firearm threat September 15 in the morning and later told investigators it was a “joke.” The county attorney is evaluating the incident for charges.

Chisago City’s Paradise Park and nearby Chuckie Lundquist Park were scenes of deliberate fires September 15 and 16. A picnic table was burning about 6:25 p.m. and grass had been set ablaze the following day about 3:30 p.m.

September 17 a minor aged driver said he fell asleep and struck a pole on Green Lake Trail at Jeffrey Avenue about 6:40 a.m. No serious injury and parents transported for medical care.

On September 17, Lakes Area Police were part of a callout of the emergency response unit that helped execute arrest warrants at an address in Rush City, about 10:44 a.m. The suspect(s) were wanted by White Bear Lake Police.

Two vaping devices cited at Chisago Lakes High School

A grading project at an address on Maria Avenue in Lindstrom was halted for allegedly lacking a permit.  A gas leak reported at St Croix Avenue about 5:45 p.m. September 17. Xcel and Lindstrom Fire went to the scene and no injury or damages were reported.
