Sunday, September 14 some residents of Sunrise Township gathered at the historic Sunrise School House to celebrate the preservation effort.   The school house was put up on blocks and prepared for moving to the Almelund Threshing Grounds September 24.  The Threshing Company has raised the funds to move forward on this important project, and look forward to the building occupying a space at the Threshing Show grounds.

A special guest at the event was Delano Olson who attended the school many, many  years ago.  He is pictured above with many others who joined in the celebration. For a $5 donation you could guess on the weight of the building.  The closest guess was made by Ryder Ungerecht, age 10. He won $50 for getting closest to the measured weight of 104,500 pounds.
