Sharalyn Olson, age 85, of North Branch, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 2 at Encore Assisted Living.

Sharalyn was born on May 4, 1940, in Almelund, Minnesota, to John and Ruth Blomquist. While attending North Branch Area High School, Sharalyn met her high school sweetheart, Butch Olson. She graduated in 1958, and the two were married later that same year, building a life together on the Olson family farm in North Branch. Together, they shared nearly 70 years side by side, including 68 years of marriage.

Sharalyn and Butch raised two sons, Dan and Rick, and created a home centered on family, hard work, and love. She began her career serving the local school as a health aide before pursuing her passion for fashion by opening her own clothing store, Main Street Fashions. Her business reflected her love for clothing and shoes and became a valued part of the community.

Sharalyn was deeply involved in her community. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Greater North Branch Business Association, and the Red Hat Ladies social group. She treasured 25 years spent at the family cabin in Sturgeon Lake, MN and enjoyed traveling near and far with her husband. Above all, she loved cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at their many activities and cherished every moment spent surrounded by family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Butch Olson; her sons, Dan (Susan) Olson and Rick (Heather) Olson; her grandchildren, Tyler (Heather) Olson, AJ (Nicky) Olson, Jessica (Landen) Geraghty, Phillip (Janice) Olson, Gabrielle (Luke) Meyer, Kelsey (Danny) Bruesewitz and Annette (Joe) Fairbanks; and her great-grandchildren, Devon, Wyatt, Natalie, Everly, Dakota, Lincoln, Brynlee, Gunner, Jackson, Bexley, Cooper, and Maizy. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen Fisk.

Sharalyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Blomquist; her siblings, Charlotte (Bob) Connoy, Franklin (Pat) Blomquist, Marion (Dick) Talbot, Marvin (Dorothy) Blomquist, Delores Blomquist, Duane Fisk, Kathy (Bob) Schroer, and Jerry (Bette) Blomquist; and her great-granddaughter, Emry Meyer.

A visitation was Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Grandstand Funeral Home in North Branch.  A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with a visitation one hour prior to the service. 

Interment followed the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.

Sharalyn will be remembered for her warmth, her strong sense of community, and her deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the many people who supported our family through Sharalyn's journey, especially in the final days. We are especially grateful to the Encore staff and Brighton Hospice for their love and warmth during this time.
