Cambridge-Isanti Triangular

The Wildcat track team participated in the Cambridge-Isanti Triangular at Cambridge-Isanti High School on Tuesday, April 14, with Monticello joining in on the fun. The girls’ meet was highly competitive, with the Wildcats finishing in second just 2 ½ points behind Monticello and 4 ½ points ahead of third place Cambridge-Isanti. The boys’ meet was not very competitive, with the Wildcats finishing a distant third behind the other two schools.

Girls

The Wildcat girls’ throwers dominated their two events, much as they have in every meet so far this season. The Wildcats swept the first four spots in the shot put. Senior Mariana Cooksley won the event with a throw of 36’4”. Avery Remitz, Madison Eagle, and Hannah Kray followed in second, third and fourth places, respectively. Cookley also won the discus with a personal best throw of 121’10”, followed by Eagle and Kray in second and third. Mikenna Fritzke won the high jump with a height of 4’10”.

The Wildcats also dominated the hurdles, led by McKaylie Malek. She won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.84 seconds and came in first in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.73 seconds, just .79 seconds ahead of teammate Mariah Cave in second. In the 100-meter hurdles, Joy Carson finished third and Mataya Malke came in fourth. Rowan Klinkner won the 200 meters in a personal best time of 27.93 seconds. Lauren Kowarsch finished second in the 1660 meter run in 5:33.85, her personal best. And Annika Hall came in second in the 3200-meter run. Addison Griffin ended up third in the 100-meter dash.

Boys

Colen Underhill won the long jump with a leap of 20’4.5’. Anden Solberg finished third in the 1600-meter run.  Everett Otte threw a personal best 49’4” in the shot put, good for second place. Jacob Grabow leaped to second place in the high jump. Lincoln Battles vaulted a personal best 11’0’ in earning second place in the pole vault.
