Lake Area officers were called April 19 to look into an overnight burglary at a business in Chisago City. The safe was accessed and cash seems to be the only item taken.

Deputies cited a property owner on Wilcox Road in Sunrise for burning. Fire was reported about 5:50 p.m.  Another small fire handled by the county and Rush City firefighters and DNR followed up checking on a re-ignite,  on Cape Road Rush City.

April 18

A house is now boarded-up after damages from a fire reported about 7:45 p.m. in Rush City. Authorities said the occupant left about 5 p.m. and 11 dogs were found inside the home  at the time of the fire, believed to have started in the kitchen about two hours later. Utility Services have been shut off too.

A car fire fully engulfed reported in Nessel Township about 9:15 a.m. Three cars nearby and some siding on a structure were also damaged.

April 16

A driver was arrested related to a pursuit that began about 1 a.m. out of Pine County that Chisago picked up. The suspect was being stopped for a cracked windshield when they fled. Allegedly a bag containing meth was located in a ditch along the pursuit route.

A two vehicle crash at Kable Avenue and County Road 14 reported about 7:30 a.m. One driver tested for the presence of being impaired. Early details are that one driver stopped for a flagperson working a construction site and was rear-ended by a second vehicle, operated by a driver believed to have not been exercising due care.

A person was trapped between a car and a pole on Highway 8 in downtown Lindstrom when he attempted to stop a rolling vehicle not placed in park. The incident happened about 9:50 a.m.

Authorities were informed of a fight at Chisago Lakes Middle School about 9 a.m. One juvenile was cited.
