Motorcycle fatality near Rush City
An Elk River man died when he hit the back end of a vehicle with his motorcycle, near the intersection of Rush Point Drive and Fairfield, Rush City. Authorities were alerted to a crash about 1:49 p.m. Tuesday Aug 11 and the responding sheriff’s deputy came upon what appeared to have been the motorcycle colliding with the passenger vehicle. The victim, 18 year old Nathaniel Johnson, was airlifted by LifeLink but passed away en route to the trauma care facility.
Preliminary investigation is that Johnson was wearing a helmet, and neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to be contributing factors. The passenger car driver remained at the scene and was cooperating.
Rush City Fire Department, Lakes Region EMS, LifeLink III and Minnesota State Patrol were listed as assisting agencies.
