Charges filed in 2025 Chisago City fatal crash

The Chisago County Attorney’s Office has filed a juvenile delinquency petition in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred October 25, 2025, in Chisago City.

A juvenile delinquency petition is a formal legal document filed by a prosecutor in juvenile court. It charges a minor (under 18 years old) with committing an act that would be a crime if committed by an adult, officially starting the formal court-based juvenile justice process

The identity of the juvenile and specific charges are not being released, according to the office of the Chisago County Attorney, because juvenile delinquency proceedings and related records are considered non-public under Minnesota law.

Several traffic incidents resulted in crashes. Two middle school-aged juveniles riding an e-bike reportedly ran a stop sign at Newell Avenue and Maple Street and struck a stopped vehicle before leaving the area.

Police also made multiple warrant arrests during the week. One driver was arrested on a felony Scott County warrant after officers reportedly observed the vehicle traveling 44 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Juvenile-related incidents included a report of three boys sitting in a tree and throwing objects at vehicles near Chisago Lakes Primary School. Officers were unable to locate them. Two juveniles were also contacted for riding e-motorcycles on a sidewalk, with one receiving a warning and the other cited after having previously been warned.

Police also investigated criminal damage to property after an officer checked two FLOCK cameras in the 8200 block of Lake Boulevard and found both had been knocked down. The cameras were taken to the Lakes Area Police Department squad garage.

Other reports included furniture being illegally dumped on private property in Lindstrom and a noise complaint involving a resident playing guitar. Officers determined the music was not excessively loud.

One ordinance complaint involved a food truck that police said was blocking motorists' sight lines and did not have the required city permits; the operators were told to stop serving for the day.
