Thomas R. Alldritt of Chisago City went to be with the Lord on Monday August 17 while at home surrounded by his family after a 21 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born October 10, 1961 to Forrest and Alma Alldritt and grew up on a farm in Woodbury, MN.

Tom graduated from Woodbury High School in 1980 and went on to attend 916 tech school where he received his degree in auto body repair. Over the years Tom grew his expertise and went on to restore countless classic cars and win several awards for his body work and restorations.

In 1988 Tom met and fell in love with his boss Liz while working at an auto body shop in the cities. They wanted to raise a family in the country so they bought a house in Chisago City and were married at Zion Lutheran Church. With Liz by his side, they opened TLC Collision Center at their home where Tom continued to tinker around up, until the very end.

Tom lived a life of service. He served on the Chisago City Fire Department for almost 20 years, many as assistant chief. He loved giving back to his community and would say it was “the right thing to do.” While serving on the department he met some of his closest and most loyal friends. Tom served as a Sunday School teacher at Zion, was a member of several committees and helped lead numerous youth mission trips. He was even honored as the 2016 Volunteer of the Year for Chisago City’s Ki-Chi-Saga Days.

There was nothing in the world Tom loved more than his family. He especially loved fishing with his son Kyle, teaching Bridget how to fix household appliances or giving Allie life advice. His life motto was “two wrongs don’t make a right” - something he passed onto his kids. When he became a Papa he was thrilled. His granddaughters were always able to put a smile on his face even on his toughest days.

Tom loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener and would grow anything from pumpkins to giant onions. He was known for his famous dill pickles and loved giving jars to customers and friends.

Tom’s faith in God was unwavering through every obstacle or hardship he faced. He knew he would be at peace and his body would be whole again. He was not afraid and greeted death like an old friend. Tom will be remembered by all who met him as a kind, giving and selfless family man.

Tom is preceded in death by both his parents; brothers Jerome and James; sister-in-law Amy; mother-in-law Kathleen; and many loyal four legged pets.

He is survived by wife Liz of 38 years; daughters Bridget, Allison Engel (Troy); son Kyle (Katie); granddaughters Sydney and Georgia; brothers-in-law Chuck Schifsky (Gina) and Jeff Wozniak; nephew Max Wozniak; and niece Amanda Schifsky (Zach). Also survived by brother David; sisters Linda, Debbie, Carol, Nancy, and Patricia; and numerous friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday August 28 from 3-7pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City. Funeral service on Saturday August 29 at 11am with visitation one hour prior followed by luncheon at Zion and burial at South Green Lake Cemetery.
