Marie Pauley
Marie Beatrice Krongard Pauley
(December 27, 1934 – February 2, 2026)
On February 2, Jesus called Marie home after a long, brave journey with dementia.
Marie joins her husband Don, her sister Myra, her brothers Dale and Leslie, and her mom and dad, Henry and Pauline Krongard.
Marie was a force of light throughout her life for all those who knew her. She was kind, she was generous, and she was fiercely protective of her family and those she loved. Some might also say she was easy-going, but those who knew her well would say she was also feisty, stubborn, and fierce, especially during lively family conversations.
Her grandchildren would say she was the best grandma they could imagine – she rarely missed a tennis match, dance recital, volleyball game, choral concert, golf match, musical, band concert, football game and her favorite, basketball games. Not only did her grandchildren know she was present, she openly and loudly shared her opinions about the referee calls and coaching decisions.
Her children would say she was the best mom ever - always present, always supportive, always welcoming. Gatherings at Marie and Don’s home for all 19 children, children-in-law, and grandchildren were the norm, and she was happiest when her house was full.
Her Lord and Savior was reflected in everything she touched. Worship and walking with Jesus was her foundation always and forever, and her greatest accomplishment was ensuring her family would join her in heaven.
While her journey was hard, especially at the end, her faith, her courage and her fierceness were inspiring and ever present and will live on through all who loved her.
Those she left behind include her sister, Marilyn, her children Susan and her husband Doug, NancyJo and her husband Larry, Tim and his wife Mary, and Jon and his wife Jeanne. Her beloved grandchildren include Stephanie, Ryan and his wife Collette, Michelle and her husband Erik, Tyler, Lauren, Mitchel, Trevor, Matthew, and Alyssa and her husband Ryan. Great-grandchildren are Taehan, Abram, Elias, and Lily.
Services are Saturday, February 14, 2026, with viewing from 10-11 am and service at 11am at Peace Lutheran Church, 2355 Clark Road, Dresser, WI 54009. Lunch will be served following the service.
