North Branch posted a 136.925–130.75 win over Chisago Lakes in a dual gymnastics meet Thursday, January 29, using steady scoring across all four events to secure the victory over the Wildcats.

The Vikings opened strong on vault, led by Ella Dick’s meet-high 9.45 and Sophia Thorsen added a 9.05 as North Branch built an early advantage. Chisago Lakes countered with solid vaults from Addy Griffin (9.15) and Lila Leadholm (9.10), along with Jordyn Anderson and Mikaela Robelia to keep the meet competitive through the first rotation.

On uneven bars, Chisago Lakes received its top score from Leadholm, who led all competitors with an 8.425. Arianna Husfeldt and Griffin added steady routines, and it was the only event of the night that the ‘Cats topped North Branch in.

Beam allowed the Vikings to reclaim the lost point from uneven bars. Fenton delivered a meet-best 9.25, with Dick close behind at 8.875. Thorsen and Brooke Giese also contributed as the Vikings maintained control of the team standings. Chisago Lakes was able to stay within range behind strong routines from Leadholm, Griffin and Kendall Schmitt.

The floor exercise proved to be North Branch’s strongest event, with Thorsen posting the top score at 9.375, followed by Dick’s 9.225. Brooke Giese added an 8.8 while CL’s top scorer was an 8.675 by Leadholm, which afford the Vikings four more points in the final standings and was the ultimate decider.

Following the meet, Chisago Lakes head coach Lee Crouse said the Wildcats are turning their attention to refinement. “As we round out our conference meets, we're starting to solidify our routines, and looking for the little things that can help improve our scores as we head into JV Conference and Sections.”
