The Wildcat wrestling team hosted a quadrangular last Thursday, January 29th and went 1-2 for the evening.  They lost to Grand Rapids 51-21, fell to Princeton 48-22, and beat the North Branch Vikings 44-30. Conner Aspenson was the only Wildcats to win all three of his matches for the evening, wrestling twice at 114 pounds and once at 121 pounds. 

Against the Vikings, just two matches ended in a way that wasn’t a pin or a forfeit.  Wildcat Gran Hansen (107). won by a 9-7 decision over Viking Tucker Kovarik. And Wildcat Lucas Yang (139) won by a 17-1 technical fall over Viking Mason Henry at 2:18.

The Wildcat girls wrestled a dual against Princeton and lost 24-18.

Wrestling Whangdoodles

The Wildcat boys will wrestle  a triangular against Zimmerman and Rockford tonight at Zimmerman High School at 5 p.m. They will also wrestle an away dual against Washington Technology Magnet School this Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Wildcat girls are scheduled to wrestle in a section tournament this Friday and Saturday, but information about the time and place has proved elusive.  Contact the Wildcat activities office for information or see if there has been an update on mississippi8.org.
