CL comes in eighth at state
Chisago Lakes closed out its season with a strong eighth-place finish at the 2026 Minnesota State Alpine Ski Meet on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, scoring 72 points in a deep and competitive field of some of the biggest and most prestigious schools in the state. Hill-Murray claimed the team championship with 169 points.
The Wildcats were led by senior Martin Cyr, who finished 26th overall after posting two steady runs on the demanding Giants Ridge courses. Rhett Reed followed closely in 28th, continuing his consistent postseason stretch, while Orval Cyr placed 32nd. Jackson Bjorklund added a 38th-place finish, and Caleb Brink came in 39th, giving Chisago Lakes five skiers inside the top 40.
Sverre Dahl had a promising run for the Wildcats, recording an excellent time on the red course before a fall on the blue course ended his day. Despite the tough break, Dahl’s opening run, which was good enough for 11th overall, highlighted his speed on the state stage.
On the girls side, Anna Dahl delivered a strong performance, finishing 23rd overall. Dahl posted a time of 37.46 on the red course, ranking 11th, before clocking a 42.53 on the blue course to finish with a combined time of 1:19.99.
