December 29. There was a report of a non responsive person in Paradise Park, found about 2:43 p.m.  Lakes Area officers located a state I.D. card to tentatively identify the person and the Midwest Medical Examiner office took over the investigation into cause of death.

Tuesday, December 30 local law enforcement put out a social media alert at mid-day for the public to avoid an area around Liberty Lane, Chisago City due to a possible threat to public safety.  

Authorities reported a  lone male, identified as 39 year old William Solomon, Chisago City,  was barricaded in a business in the industrial park and stating he would set fire to the structure, which contained chemical materials.  Local agencies went to the scene and Lakes Area Police were further assisted by SWAT and the metro area Hazardous Materials Response Team.  

After several hours of negotiations the subject was taken into custody at approximately 8 p.m.  He faces charges of reckless disregard and terroristic threats. 

January 4 there was a report of a two vehicle crash at 260th and St Croix Trail, approximately 9 p.m.  Both vehicles were towed due to damages, a driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and one person was transported for unknown injuryFor the week overall there were multiple calls of domestic disturbances, a suicide victim of a gunshot was located, a serious injury by an axe was reported and an ambulance dispatched to a Lindstrom address, and a runaway reported.  Also, readers are reminded not to set out items in street right-of-way for free...these become hazards for plow truck operation.
