Nancy Andrews

Nancy A. Andrews, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 at Parmly on the Lake in Chisago City, MN after a courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy was born on October 16, 1942 in Cherokee, Iowa to parents Murray Lowell Pedersen and Alta Leona (Maust) Pedersen, both who preceded her in death.

Nancy grew up on a farm in Alta and graduated from Alta High School in 1960. She furthered her education in Mankato MN at a business school. After working in Sioux City, SD, Nancy moved to Minnesota working at a bank in Minneapolis. During this time, mutual friends introduced her to Jerrill Andrews and they were married on January 8, 1972.

For 53 years, Nancy and Jerry made their home on the family farm in Shafer, MN.  They were blessed with one son, John, who has faithfully worked on the cattle farm over the years with his dad.

Nancy and Jerry felt that they were brought together by God and were committed to serving Him as they provided for each other. Realizing that each one’s weakness is supported by the strengths of the other. They relied on Him for guidance in life and being faithful to each other and giving encouragement in other interests. Nancy overcame cancer and covid in 2020 and lived in God’s mercy accepting that God gives victory in ways we yet do not know.

Nancy was an active and devoted member at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom, MN where her faith and kindness touched many. Over the years, Nancy found joy in knitting, reading, word search puzzles, scrapbooking and meeting friends for lunch. She was like a “grandma” to many of her friends’ children, a role she deeply cherished. Nancy also loved to travel, not to just see the sights but to build deep bonds with family and friends.

Nancy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steady faith and quiet love she gave so freely to others.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Jerrill; son, John; sister, Kathleen (Robert) Stoughton; sister-in-law, Diane Pedersen; nephews, Timothy and Mark Stoughton, Ronald and Tyler Pedersen and Scott Andrews; nieces, Lisa Pedersen Lewis and Amy Andrews Vizina and brothers-in-law, James and Joel Andrews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Alta Pedersen and younger brother, Allan Pedersen.
