The Chisago Lakes Area Chamber is in the process of rethinking/rebranding itself currently.  With the changes taking place, the Chamber has (for good reason) taken a step back from the very popular Celebration of the Lakes event this year.  Not completely giving the event up, rather taking a year off while re-tooling.  Chisago City’s parks superintendent Doris Zacho and all her great volunteers have graciously agreed to host the celebration this year.  What does this mean to you and me? It means we will once again get a chance to enjoy our frozen lakes in February by coming out and having a great time with friends and neighbors.  The celebration will run February 12,13,14 and 15 and will include events all over the Chisago Lakes area.  The main hub for the celebration will once again be South Lindstrom Lake which will feature everyone’s favorite snowmobile radar runs.  There will be ice car racing on the lake as well as a gathering “village” near the radar runs.  We will have much more in the next few Press editions.  

Here at the Press, over the years, we’ve had to purchase newer computers whenever certain software  gets out of date and we are forced to do so.  Well over the years we have compiled a number of older iMacs that work just fine,  just won’t run our layout software.  We now have six or seven older iMacs sitting around collecting dust.  “Why are you telling us this Matt?” Because, if you or someone you know has a use for these computers, I would love to help out.  Not looking to make a buck, just trying to help a neighbor.  Just email us at [email protected] or give us a call at 651 257 5115 to see if we can help you.  

With temps now dipping way below zero lately, the homeless shelters’ need for warm clothing has never been greater.  To all of you who have donated in the past, thank you so much!  If you would like to donate, please bring them in to the Press and we will ensure they get to needy homeless.
