Chisago Lakes hires Stavig for high school principal, as Yackley retiring
Chisago Lakes has made their choice for the next principal in the high school building, and it’s Brent Stavig.
Stavig is currently serving as Rush City’s superintendent, and prior to that, he was a principal in the Rush City School District for a decade and a teacher in the St. Francis district. He’s been in his current role for six years.
Stavig will be replacing retiring principal Tammy Yackley, who had been with the Chisago Lakes district for three years after taking over for longtime principal Dave Ertl.
“I am truly honored and excited for the opportunity to join Chisago Lakes High School and become part of a school community with such a strong reputation for supporting students and providing a broad array of programs, services, and opportunities for all learners,” Stavig said in a press release.
“I look forward to listening, learning, building relationships, and becoming part of a community that clearly cares deeply about its students and each other. I am excited for what lies ahead and grateful for the opportunity to begin this next chapter together.”
Officials with the district said, “Throughout our interview process, Brent consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to students, staff, relationships, and creating a positive school culture. He shared his enthusiasm for joining Chisago Lakes and spoke highly of our students, staff, and the strong sense of community that makes our district special.
“We are excited for Brent to join the Wildcat family and are confident that his leadership, experience, and student-centered approach will serve our high school community well. Please join us in welcoming Brent to our district.”
