Representatives of the North Branch Area Education Foundation (NBAEF) visited North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS), to announce 2026 grant recipients. In all, there were 18 grants awarded; roughly $33,000 in value.
Board members in attendance included Kim Theis, Matt Lattimore, Terry Nelson, Kris Fairbanks, and Tammy Hovland.
This year’s fundraising was augmented with a $5,000 private donation. At its Perfect 10 event last October, the foundation also provided stereoscopes as part of its “Fund a Dream” fundraiser.
Awarded grants include 3D printers, drone maker kits, LED microscopes, a mentor/leadership program, a Cyber Savvy Microbit Educators Kit, a translator device for English language learner support, Aerial Drone Competition Launch Project equipment, early literacy books, My First Book Club, fitness supplies, the Attendance and Academic Motivation Project, DAPE bicycles (including privately donated funds), Building Future Innovators - STEM Toys, outdoor classroom equipment, Outdoor Adventures and Experiences, and funding to perform a community service project.
Since 2010, the NBAEF has raised over $657,750 and the Endowment Fund has raised over $317,000!
“North Branch Area Public Schools is so fortunate to have such a dedicated foundation and such incredible support in the community,” said Supt. Sara Paul. “The work of the foundation and the generosity of our community make these grants possible each year,” she said, adding, “These grants directly impact our students and staff, and provide incredible opportunities students may not have experienced without the North Branch Area Education Foundation and its supporters.”
