MaryAnn Lehman

MaryAnn Lehman, age 81, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her son, Allen Strand and daughter in law, Heather on Friday February 20, 2026 after battling with severe health issues for many years.

MaryAnn was born May 24, 1944 at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN to George Emmett, Sr. and Alice Rose (LaBarre) Colaizy. She was the oldest of two children and was raised in the St. Paul area. The family spent time together at the cabin in Debs, MN. MaryAnn graduated from Our Lady of Peace High School in 1962. MaryAnn loved to figure skate and taught around the area. She also loved to roller skate and this is where she met her first husband Richard. They were married and blessed with two sons, Donny and Allen. They adopted a daughter, Chris (Tina) between the births.

MaryAnn later married George Lehman. She welcomed his four children to the family and they resided just outside of North Branch in the same house she wanted to pass in.

MaryAnn loved to go bowling especially with George, but she also traveled for bowling league joined by friends Ruth, Carol and Jan. She loved hanging out with Allen’s friends at numerous bonfires where many shenanigans took place. She was a second mom to so many of the frequent guests  as well. She loved to support Allen in his sound career and going to his shows. She was exceedingly proud of what he had accomplished. She proudly supported her eldest son with his love of hockey and baseball. The highlight of Donny’s short 15 years of life, for her, was going to his games. She loved to color, was an avid reader, and a fabulous cook. She wanted to help anyone she could and tended to give even with nothing left to give. She enjoyed her job of driving people to their medical appointments for many years. Anyone who knew her, knew of her love of Christmas, her Christmas village, snowmen and having family over for holidays. Allen will always remember her strength, her cooking and her giving nature.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husband George; son Donny; niece Angela; brothers-in-law Ray and Chuck; sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Donna; stepdaughter Jeanie and sister by heart Marion. She is survived by her son Allen and his wife Heather, family Tina, Joshua, and Justice, brother George (Phyllis), brothers in law Irv (Jan) and Marvin, niece Heather and family, her stepchildren, Monica, Cory, and Randy, many step-grandchildren and family members by heart.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 5 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026 at the North Branch American Legion. Please come with stories to share!

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Grandstrand Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Branch.  Condolences maybe expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com
