Gerald Basil Brown (Jerry) was born on November 7, 1943 in Buffalo, MN to Paris Brown and Lucille Higgins. He was one of six children. 

Jerry started out working at a local grocery store in New Brighton, MN bagging groceries. He became a butcher and later, the store manager. In his later years, he was the district manager of food and fuel and later managed the Rush City, MN Cenex before retiring.

Jerry called Lindstrom, MN his home. He lived in a small cabin on Glader Boulevard for years where he would host BBQ’s for family and friends, play corn hole, go fishing, paddle boating and take in the beauty of the scenery in his own backyard. He enjoyed life on the lake.

Jerry loved music. He liked to play the guitar and sing along to various genres of music, new and old. He was always up for learning to play a new song. He would occasionally host karaoke parties with family and friends where everyone would gather around and sing their favorite tunes. He was known to sing and play the guitar in local pubs back in his younger years.

Jerry moved out of his cabin and into a townhome in the Morning Sun neighborhood in Lindstrom, MN. When he retired and was ready for warmer weather, he moved to Arizona. His last place of residence was Sun City West, AZ.

Jerry passed away in Sun City West, AZ on January 25, 2026. His smile and laughter will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

Jerry is survived by his son Troy Anthony Brown (Luz Esmeralda), Crystal Gabert (Wyatt and Thomas), siblings Sandra Ann Bancroft and Kenneth Scott Brown, niece Molly Brown, nephews Mitchell Brown and Jacob Benjamin Pyles and countless cousins in the Brown and Higgins extended families.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Paris and Lucille; siblings James Robert Brown, Carol Jane Blaze and Keith Anthony Brown, nephew Scott Stollenwerk and nieces Tammy Lee Stollenwerk and Krissy Wolle.

There will be a burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom, MN at a later date per Jerry’s wishes.
