Dean David Trippler, aged 63, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on March 29, 2026. Born on September 20, 1962, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Dean was known for his giving spirit and adventurous nature. He graduated from Chisago Lakes High School and furthered his education at Augustana College and the University of Minnesota.

Dean was adopted by Dorman and Eleanor when he was two weeks old. Later in life, Dean shared the same opportunity when he adopted his daughter, Rebecca, raising her as his own.

Dean had a diverse career, working as an editor at both the Chanhassen Villager and Chisago County Press, and later as a Private Investigator at R & D Agency. He also held associate positions at Walmart, Fleet Farm, and Menards, showcasing his versatility and dedication to his professional life.

Outside of work, Dean was passionate about the outdoors, and was often found hiking or fishing. He also enjoyed putting together models, reading, painting, playing with his pets, and of course being called Papi by his grandchildren. These hobbies reflected his caring and adventurous personality, bringing joy not only to himself but also to those around him.

He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Olson (Jerrod); grandchildren, Ryker, Grace, and Kaiser; his mother Eleanor Trippler; sister Donna Nyberg; brother Dan Trippler; and many nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his father, Dorman Trippler.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City, MN, on May 9 from 11 am to 1 pm. A small ashes burial at the cemetery will be from 1:30 to 2 pm.

In remembrance of Dean’s love for nature, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made by planting a tree or spending time outdoors, honoring his legacy in a way that would make him smile.
