Carole Elaine Madsen, of White Bear Lake, passed away on April 30, 2026, at the age of 84.

Carole was born on November 22, 1941, in San Diego, California. She spent most of her childhood in Austin, Minnesota, and later graduated from Richfield High School in 1959.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Finholdt (Swanson); her father, Harry Finholdt; and her stepmother, Irene Finholdt.

Carole is survived by her children, Kevin Madsen (Karen), Ty Madsen, Steffan Madsen (Shelly), Shawn Madsen (Darcy), Brandy Madsen (John), and Beau Madsen (Kari); 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Craig, Dawn, and Kim; and many dear friends.

Carole retired from the VA Medical Center after 24 years of dedicated service as an LPN. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for antiques, and enjoyed decorating her home, planting flowers, yard work, and Christmas.

A memorial service will be held at:

2 p.m. on Monday, May 11 

Redeemer Lutheran Church

3770 Bellaire Avenue, 

White Bear Lake

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. 

Private interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
