Barbara Jean Anderson, 80, of Taylors Falls, passed away peacefully at home, on March 17, 2026. Barbara Jean Hedberg was born in Moose Lake, Minnesota on May 9, 1945 to Maurice and Marie (Leerssen) Hedberg. She graduated from Moose Lake High School and married Philip Anderson in 1963. Barb worked at the Hazelden Foundation in Center City for most of her career, while raising three daughters and earning a degree from Augsburg Weekend College. 

She lived in her home in Taylors Falls for close to 40 years, where she enjoyed an active retirement.

Barb was a gentle, positive soul, with boundless energy and a sense of fun; family meant everything to her. Even when she had a heavy work schedule, she never missed her grandchildren’s events, usually with a container of homemade goodness in hand.

Always a problem solver, she met life’s challenges with a positive attitude and sturdy resilience, always finding a way to fix whatever was going wrong. She loved being outside, especially walking and gardening. She enjoyed many trips over the years, especially Grandma trips with her grandchildren. Faith, family, friends and community were Barb’s priorities throughout her life.

Barb is survived by daughters Patty Keyport, Rachel (Brian) Meinert, and Debra Anderson; grandchildren Joe Keyport, Kathryn Keyport, Jack Meinert, Lauren Meinert and Grace Meinert; and brothers Marvin Hedberg, and Leon (Kathi) Hedberg. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Marie, sister-in-law Margit Hedberg, son-in-law Scott Keyport, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, 4-7 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola, WI. Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Oak Lake Lutheran Church in Kerrick, MN. Visitation one hour prior with lunch to follow the service.
