Richard “Dick” Alsen, of Chisago City, MN passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2026.  He was born in St. Paul, MN on December 19, 1938 to John and Agnes Alsen and was the youngest of eight children.

Dick was a graduate of Monroe High School class of 1956 and a 30 plus year employee of BNSF.  He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, especially the MN Twins and Vikings and tinkering in his garage.  He never met a small engine he couldn’t fix.

Dick was united in marriage on April 8, 1961 to his beloved wife Alice and was blessed with three children, Pam, Jeanne and Rick.

Dick leaves behind his wife Alice of 65 years; daughter Jeanne (Scott); son Rick (Suzie); sister JoAnn; grandchildren Cassie (Shawn), Natasha (Judson), Blake (Julia), Bailey, Gauge, Chase, and Nikiya; great grandchildren Addy, Finn, Henry (shares grandpa’s birthday), and Elaine, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Pam, parents, five sisters, and two brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom, MN.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at church.  Interment at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Cemetery in Lino Lakes, MN.  Arrangements by  Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN.
