Dale W. Fredrickson, of Lindstrom, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 26, 2026; weeks shy of turning 87. Dale grew up on his family farm in Milaca, Minnesota, where his love of farming and the outdoors began.
In 1957, he graduated from Milaca High School and married the love of his life Barbara (nee Davis). Dale proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1960 aboard the USS Tidewater.
After serving, Dale and Barb settled in northern Lindstrom on a farm together where they shared 69 years of marriage, raised three children, and built a life centered around family.
Dale began working at Pillsbury Mill in Minneapolis. While working full-time, he attended night school at Dunwoody College, earning his machinist certification. He went on to dedicate more than 42 years to Pillsbury, where his skill and hard work earned him several patents for Pillsbury products.
Dale’s greatest joy was his family and his love of farming. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was happiest, cooking spaghetti and fish dinners for his family and farming the land he loved, always with a cup of coffee in hand. Fittingly, he spent his final weekend surrounded by family at his childhood farm in Milaca, driving his John Deere gator around while sharing stories.
Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; their three children; Deborah (Rick) Halvorson, Lonnie (Bonita) Fredrickson, Ronnie (Sue) Fredrickson, seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sister (brother-in-law), and one half-sister (brother-in-law). He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace (Davis) Fredrickson, father and stepmother, Avert and Charlotte (Arenkiel) Fredrickson; sister, Darlene Jensen; infant brother, Donnie, and one stepbrother and two infant great grandchildren.
Dale leaves behind a lifetime of love, jokes, hard work, family Swedish traditions, and memories that will continue through the generations.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, October 9 at 11 a.m - 2 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral home in Lindstrom, MN. Private family internment to follow at gravesite.
Arrangements through Grandstrand Funeral Home of Lindstrom. Condolences can be expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com.
