Gary Houle

Gary John Houle, age 82 of Stacy was called home to the Lord on October 10, 2026.  Gary was born April 25, 1944, in Forest Lake, Minnesota.  Gary was a deacon at St. Peter Catholic Church in Forest Lake for over 30 years and an institution at E.J. Houle’s Feed Mill in Forest Lake where he worked alongside his grandfather, father, siblings, children, and grandchildren over his long career.

Gary is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife Julie (Wightman) Houle to whom he was married for 62 years; his four loving children and their spouses, Robert (Iris), Natalie (Debbie), Angela (Travis), and Terry (Carrie); his seven grandchildren who will miss their grandpa more than words can express, Alexander, Gabriel, Erick, Finn, Lillian, Henri, and Aidan; siblings, Jim (Sherri) Houle, Jeff (Cindy) Houle, Greg (Debbie) Houle, and Mary (Lyle) Koski.  Preceded in death by parents, Willard and Joan Houle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 3–7 p.m. at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. A prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to Mass at the church. A private interment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.
