Chisago Lakes junior Annika Hall started September in impressive fashion, winning the girls race at the Irish Invitational Friday, Sept. 4 in Rosemount.

Hall was the first runner across the finish line in 11:49.2, edging Two Rivers junior Josie Miller, who finished second in 11:53.4. St. Francis junior Anniston Rolf was third in 12:01.7. 

The victory was the highlight of the day for a Wildcat program that tested itself against a large field featuring large schools from around the Twin Cities and southeastern Minnesota.

Annika’s sister, Kara Hall, was another Wildcat finisher on the girls side, placing 58th with a time of 14:30.6. Averiana Gellerman came across in 70th place with a 14:46.4. McKaylie Malek was 86th in 15:13.5.

The girls finished in 10th place on the day, with 16 teams registering a full score. They had 256 points while the winning squad, Eden Prairie, had 74 points.

On the boys side, senior Cian O’Halloran led the Wildcats with a strong top-15 finish. O’Halloran placed 13th overall in 10:42.3, recording a personal-best time in the process.

Chisago Lakes senior Remy Larsen wasn’t too far behind O’Halloran, finishing 34th overall in 11:06.7. 

Freshman Samuel Heaser also put together a strong race for the Wildcats, finishing 60th in 11:34.4 and recording a personal best time. Anden Solberg finished 119th in 12:35.4.

As a team, the Wildcats finished in eighth place in the 22 team meet. They had 234 points. Mounds View won the meet with 64 points.

Two Rivers junior Max Molinaro won the boys race in 10:02.9, with Rosemount senior Channing Goodwin second in 10:09.7 and St. Francis sophomore Ryder Mold third in 10:16.5.
